HillsCarPal is a community-based Seniors transportation project that is addressing the mobility issues of those Sydney Hills Seniors who no longer drive. Without a HillsCarPal option, such Seniors face becoming Shut-ins particularly as they age and find negotiating public transport a real challenge.
Already in the final stages of planning, HillsCarPal has benefitted from input from many people, including some enthusiatic high-school and Uni students from the Sydney Hills region.
The next phase, as HillsCarPal starts to deliver “rides” to our clients, will deliver more learning about the best way to develop the HillsCarPal concept. We look forward to the feedback of our supporters, drivers and clients – but not necessarily in that order – so that, together we can make HillsCarPal a piece of valuable community infrastructure that Seniors everywhere look forward to using as a way of keeping in touch with family, friends and community.
