HillsCarPal is hearing that Victorian aged and community care provider, Villa Maria is gearing up to launch an innovative iPhone app set to make a huge difference in the way people with disability or mobility issues and their carers access Melbourne venues and events.
The free Out & About – Accessing Your Community app will be released for download at a community event hosted by the aged and disability services organisation on Sunday, 1 December at Albert Park.
As far as we know there is nothing like it in Sydney as yet.
HillsCarPal doesn’t yet offer transportation services for people with disabilities or to those with extensive mobility needs, but an app that assists Seniors with disability or mobility issues in and around Sydney would be welcomed.
And … a Sydney app could help Shut-in Seniors and their HillsCarPal volunteer drivers in setting pickup/set-down points at unfamiliar destinations thus minimizing confusion and walking distances for Seniors.
Come on Sydney. Melbourne can’t be allowed to monopolise such an app …. It already has The Cup!!
